Putting Life In A Box

About two months ago my husband received a phone call. One that has inevitably changed our lives. I am currently sitting in a sea of boxes that contain the pieces of my life that are tangible. Since we began the process of relocating from Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania to Mansfield, Ohio, I not only realized how much stuff I have, but how much we accumulate that becomes a part of us--even if it's ugly! The closet under the stairwell revealed much of this ugliness that I speak of. My old collections and random items that were never 'good enough' to display in the house, but held enough of a memory to keep it around.
I have lived in this area for 14 years. I grew up here. Got married here. Had my little girl here. So many memories that have been stored. Some that are so dear to me I will hold them in my heart forever. And others, well, there are some that I have been trying to discard of for years and just can't seem to let it go. If I have learned one thing in the last two months, it would be this... There is freedom in throwing junk away! This includes what's in your house and your heart.
As we continue our journey of buying our first home and moving many miles away, please come with us as I attempt to keep you well informed.
